Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has approved 20 new projects with a total proposed investment of ₹4,353 crore, marking another significant step toward boosting industrial growth and employment in the state. The approvals came during the meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja.
According to officials, the projects span 11 districts—Angul, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Khurda, Koraput, Puri, Sambalpur and Sundergarh. Together, they are expected to create around 7,815 employment opportunities, contributing to balanced regional development.
The newly approved ventures cover a diverse range of sectors, including chemicals, aluminium, electronics, food processing, IT services, tourism, infrastructure, and power and renewable energy. This broad sectoral spread reflects the state’s ongoing efforts to attract high-quality investments and ease the process of setting up industries.
Officials noted that these investments highlight Odisha’s proactive approach to fostering an industry-friendly environment. By facilitating smooth approvals and encouraging enterprises across multiple districts, the government aims to ensure inclusive growth and unlock more opportunities for the youth.
Among the notable approvals is NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited’s floating solar project, to be established in Sundergarh district with an investment of ₹710.27 crore. Another significant project is the ₹600-crore iron ore beneficiation plant proposed by Rashmi Metallurgical Industry Private Limited in Keonjhar.
With these fresh clearances, Odisha continues to strengthen its position as a growing investment destination, while driving forward its goal of achieving sustainable, regionally distributed industrial development.
