Odisha Secures ₹16.73 Lakh Crore Investments at Utkarsh Odisha 2025

The Utkarsh Odisha-Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 concluded successfully, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announcing a record-breaking investment commitment of ₹16.73 lakh crore, expected to generate 12.88 lakh jobs across more than 20 sectors in all 30 districts of Odisha.
Key Announcements & Investment Highlights
Speaking at the valedictory session, CM Majhi revealed that the state signed 145 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹12.89 lakh crore, covering 16 core sectors. These investments alone are projected to create 8.94 lakh employment opportunities.
Additionally, 448 investment intention forms were received, proposing an investment of ₹3.84 lakh crore and an estimated 3.92 lakh jobs. With this, the total number of projects received during the conclave stood at 593, marking one of the largest industrial investment drives in Odisha’s history.
PM Modi’s Endorsement & Investment Confidence
The Chief Minister credited the strong investor response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s direct involvement and endorsement during the inauguration. “The Prime Minister himself emphasized that Odisha is now the best investment destination. Under his leadership, we have taken another step toward realizing our vision for a ‘Samruddh Odisha 2036’ and contributing to Viksit Bharat 2047,” CM Majhi stated.
PM Modi’s ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’ played a crucial role in instilling investor confidence, leading to significant industrial commitments. Odisha is now closer to becoming one of India’s top five economies, Majhi added.

The signed MoUs cover a wide range of industries, including:

The conclave also facilitated Odisha’s entry into new-age sectors like green fuels, electronic manufacturing, data centers, and circular economy solutions.
Global Participation & Sectoral Dialogues
With participation from over 16 countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia as partner nations, the conclave underscored Odisha’s emergence as a global investment hub.
Sectoral sessions on Textiles & Apparel, Renewable Energy, Skilled Workforce Development, Women Entrepreneurship, Tourism, and Healthcare fostered strategic discussions on long-term economic growth.
The “Skilled in Odisha” session emphasized upskilling youth for emerging industries.
Women Entrepreneurship and Start-Up Odisha panels focused on innovation and inclusive growth.
Sustainability discussions explored circular economy practices and green technologies.
To further engage students and the general public, the exhibition will remain open until January 31, 2025. This move aims to provide insights into Odisha’s industrial growth and emerging opportunities for young professionals.
