Bhubaneswar : The Odisha government has given the green light to fresh industrial investments worth ₹4,739 crore, with the potential to create more than 25,200 jobs across the state. The approvals came at the 140th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, IAS.
25 Projects Across 13 Key Sectors
In total, 25 projects spanning 13 sectors—including textiles, steel, chemicals, IT/ITES, infrastructure, logistics, renewable energy, tourism, cold storage, and capital goods—received approval. Officials said these proposals underscore Odisha’s commitment to becoming a hub for both traditional industries and emerging technology-driven enterprises under the state’s Samrudha Odisha 2036 vision.
Among the sectors, textiles and apparel dominated with large-scale proposals from Colortone Textiles Pvt. Ltd., SCM Garments Pvt. Ltd., Hindalco Industries Ltd., and others. Collectively, these ventures are expected to generate over 18,000 jobs, making textiles one of the largest employment creators in this investment round.
Linde India Bets on Khordha
The highlight of the approvals was Linde India Limited’s plan to establish a Global Competency Centre in Khordha with an estimated investment of ₹82 crore. The project, designed to focus on transport and remote operations, is expected to create 210 specialized jobs and enhance Odisha’s growing IT/ITES ecosystem.
Linde India, a leading name in the industrial gases and engineering sector, currently operates more than 35 facilities across India. Its Project Engineering Division is known for designing, installing, and commissioning advanced plants such as air separation units and nitrogen facilities. The Khordha centre marks a strategic expansion of the company’s digital and technological capabilities.
In addition, Linde India will invest ₹105.7 crore in Jajpur to set up a pipeline cluster, catering to Tata Steel and allied industries, further strengthening Odisha’s industrial backbone.
Expansions and Green Investments
Several other high-value proposals also stood out in this round of clearances. Konark Ispat Ltd. received approval for a ₹990 crore expansion in Jharsuguda, aimed at bolstering the state’s steel production capacity. In the renewable energy sector, Prozeal Green Energy Ltd. will establish a ₹140 crore solar park in Subarnapur, supporting Odisha’s push toward sustainable energy solutions.
Environmental and infrastructure advancements were also prioritized. BEIL Infrastructure Ltd. secured clearance for a ₹320.7 crore integrated waste management facility in Ganjam, designed to handle industrial and municipal waste responsibly. Meanwhile, SYCE India will bring in ₹107.4 crore to develop a five-star resort in Sambalpur, adding a boost to the state’s growing tourism sector.
Officials noted that the approvals reflect Odisha’s steady rise as a preferred destination for investors across diverse sectors. The state has, in recent months, cleared multiple projects worth several thousand crores, signaling strong momentum in its industrialization drive.
Observers say Linde India’s Khordha project, in particular, represents more than just a corporate investment. It signals confidence in Odisha’s ability to host high-tech and digitally advanced operations, positioning the state as a dual hub for both traditional heavy industries and next-generation technology.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, who chaired the meeting, said the breadth of projects—spanning textiles, steel, green energy, IT, and tourism—showcases Odisha’s balanced approach to industrial growth. By aligning investments with employment generation and sustainable practices, the state continues to push forward its Samrudha Odisha 2036 vision of inclusive and diversified development.
With over ₹4,700 crore in fresh commitments and more than 25,200 jobs in the pipeline, the state government believes these projects will not only strengthen Odisha’s industrial ecosystem but also create new opportunities for its workforce across districts.
