Odisha Approves 26 Projects Worth Rs 5,992.92 Crore

The Odisha government has greenlit 26 new projects valued at Rs 5,992.92 crore, aimed at accelerating industrial development and creating 19,364 jobs across the state. This decision was made during the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja on Wednesday.

The approved projects span multiple sectors, including steel, chemicals, renewable energy, textiles, manufacturing, infrastructure, information technology, and tourism, and will be implemented across 14 districts.

Significant investments in the steel sector were highlighted, including GM Iron and Steel Company Limited’s plan to establish a 0.23 million tonne per annum capacity steel plant and a 45 MW captive power plant in Mayurbhanj district. Shree Ganesh Metaliks Limited received approval to expand its integrated steel plant in Sundargarh, while Times Steel and Power Private Limited will expand its existing plant in the same district. Additionally, Aryan Ispat and Power Private Limited will grow its current project in Sambalpur, and SSAB Energy and Minerals Limited will expand its beneficiation plant in Keonjhar district.

Bhaskar Steel and Ferro Alloy Private Limited (a unit of KAI Steel) plans to add downstream facilities in Sundargarh, and Shyamshakti Metals Private Limited will set up a structural and pipe manufacturing unit in Rengali, Sambalpur. Cabcon India Limited received approval to establish a manufacturing unit for aluminum conductors, wire rods, and cables in Sundargarh, while Shreyash Aluminium and Alloys Private Limited will build a high-grade electrical conducting rod and alloy rod manufacturing unit in Jharsuguda.

In the chemical sector, Eternis Fine Chemicals Limited was approved to set up a perfumery ingredient manufacturing unit in Ganjam. Renewable energy projects include Envirocare Infrasolution Private Limited’s 100 MW ground-mounted solar photovoltaic captive power plant in Boudh and Solisys Solar Private Limited’s solar module manufacturing facility in Khurda. Additionally, Nandaraj Agrotech Private Limited’s proposal to establish a unit for spices and snacks in Khurda was also approved.

This wave of approvals marks a significant step forward in Odisha’s industrial growth, promising substantial job creation and economic development across various sectors and regions in the state.
