Jindal Foundation Launches 4th Edition of ‘Yashasvi’ to Empower Women

Over 5,000 women and girls from Odisha, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh to benefit this year

Bhubaneswar: The Jindal Foundation, the CSR arm of Jindal Steel, has launched the fourth edition of its flagship programme ‘Yashasvi’, aimed at empowering women and girls from economically weaker sections across Odisha, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh. The initiative continues its mission of promoting education and self-reliance among underprivileged young women.

This year, the foundation targets to support more than 5,000 women and girls aged between 16 and 30, belonging to families with an annual income of less than ₹2 lakh. The financial assistance will help cover academic fees, enabling them to pursue higher education or skill development without economic constraints.

The selection process will evaluate candidates based on academic merit, family income, and proof of admission to a recognized educational or skill development institution. Interested applicants are required to submit their applications along with necessary documents by August 16, 2025.

Chairperson of the Jindal Foundation, Smt. Shallu Jindal, highlighted the initiative’s transformative impact on women’s lives. “Empowering young women is key to building a progressive and equitable society. Yashasvi is not just a financial aid programme but a platform to unlock the potential of thousands of deserving girls who dream of a better future,” she said.

Since its inception, the Yashasvi programme has supported over 11,000 women and girls, many of whom have transitioned into successful careers. Nearly 8,000 beneficiaries have become financially independent through employment, entrepreneurship, or self-employment, contributing to their families and communities.

The initiative is part of the Foundation’s broader commitment to social development and women’s empowerment. In addition to financial support, Yashasvi also promotes life skills, confidence-building, and access to opportunities that help beneficiaries become self-reliant.

With this fourth edition, Jindal Foundation reinforces its dedication to bridging the gender gap in education and employment, especially in rural and underserved areas. The Foundation urges eligible candidates to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to shape their futures.

Applications can be submitted online or through partner organizations working with the Foundation in the respective states. The Yashasvi programme continues to inspire hope and resilience among young women, giving them the tools to rise above socio-economic barriers and lead empowered lives.
