CM Mohan Charan Majhi Urges Integrity as 1,543 Youth Receive Government Jobs in Odisha

At 14th Nijukti Mela, Chief Minister calls on new recruits to serve people honestly and keep the system corruption-free

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday handed over appointment letters to 1,543 newly recruited government employees from 11 departments at the 14th Nijukti Mela held at the Railway Auditorium in Bhubaneswar. Addressing the young officials, the Chief Minister stressed integrity, honesty and people-centric service as the core values of public service.

The large recruitment drive reflects the state government’s continued focus on employment generation and transparent governance.

Congratulating the new recruits, CM Majhi said their selection was the result of hard work, dedication and sacrifice.

“You have reached here through your own effort. This appointment is a symbol of your trust and success,” he said.

Highlighting the government’s achievements, the Chief Minister said that within just 18 months of coming to power, the state government has provided government jobs to 39,459 youth across Odisha.

Call for Corruption-Free Governance and Public Service

The Chief Minister strongly urged the new officials to uphold integrity in their professional lives.

“Be committed to making the system corruption-free, while ensuring that you yourself remain free from corruption,” he said.

He reminded them that their primary responsibility is to serve the people with sincerity, compassion and dedication.

“Never forget your duty towards the people of Odisha. Good service to the public should always be your priority,” Majhi added.

Recruitment Drive Linked to Vision of Developed Odisha

CM Majhi said the Nijukti Mela plays a key role in achieving the vision of a developed Odisha and a developed India.

“This recruitment fair is part of our continuous effort to create employment opportunities for youth and strengthen governance,” he said.

The government, he added, will continue its campaign to empower young people through transparent and merit-based recruitment.

Deputy CMs Share Vision for Youth and Sports Excellence

Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo addressed newly appointed sports coaches at the event and set an ambitious goal.

“You should work towards producing at least 10 Olympians from Odisha by 2036,” he said, urging coaches to nurture talent at the grassroots level.

Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Pravati Parida encouraged the recruits to think beyond personal success.

“For 2036, you should have a bigger vision than just dreams,” she said, expressing confidence that the new officials would improve public service delivery across the state.

Ministers Stress Accountability and Dedication

Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari reminded the recruits that public opinion matters most in government service.

“From today, the general public will be your examiner,” he said, adding that recognition from citizens is greater than any certificate or award.

School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond advised the recruits to discharge their duties with honesty, sincerity and dedication, stating that ethical service builds long-term trust in governance.

Several newly appointed candidates shared their gratitude at the event.

Dhrupad Kumar Behera from Bolangir, Bhagyashree Swain from Cuttack, Debamrut Sahu from Jajpur and Manisha Nayak from Ganjam thanked the Chief Minister and the state government for ensuring a clean, impartial and transparent recruitment process.

They said the fair selection system strengthened their faith in governance and motivated them to serve the state with commitment.
