Massive Boost for Infrastructure, Education, and Welfare in Tribal District

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi kick-started a massive development campaign in Mayurbhanj district by launching and laying the foundation stones for projects worth over ₹420 crore. The grand event took place in Bisoi, where the CM described the occasion as a “new chapter” in the district’s development journey.

The Chief Minister inaugurated 133 completed projects worth ₹328 crore and laid the foundation for 52 new projects worth ₹91 crore. These projects aim to improve basic facilities like drinking water, roads, schools, banks, healthcare centers, and tribal cultural hubs across blocks such as Rairangpur, Kusumi, Bijatala, Bahalda, Jamda, and Tiring.

During his speech, CM Majhi announced a new +2 college at Bisoi block headquarters and declared that the Bisoi Mini Stadium would be named after legendary tribal leader Dharanidhar Naik. A statue will also be installed in his honor.

“This is a proud day for Mayurbhanj,” said Majhi. “These projects will bring real change to people’s lives and are part of our mission for a prosperous Odisha.”

Highlighting his government’s progress in the past 11 months, Majhi mentioned key achievements such as:

  • Opening all four gates of the Shree Jagannath Temple
  • Launching the Subhadra scheme, helping over 1 crore women
  • Fixing paddy MSP at ₹3,100 per quintal
  • Empowering 17 lakh women as “Lakhpati Didis” under self-help groups
  • Launching the CM Kisan Yojana for farmers

Majhi also announced plans to bring ₹10,000 crore worth of industries to Mayurbhanj, which will create jobs and accelerate the district’s growth. “We are committed to action, not just promises. This is a people’s government, and we are making sure voices from every village are heard,” he said.

Looking ahead, the CM introduced the “36 for 36” vision — 36 key programs by 2036 to improve education, healthcare, industry, and infrastructure. The goal is to ensure every household gets clean drinking water, electricity, transport, and better living conditions.

The event also saw the CM distributing welfare benefits, including death compensation, marriage aid for workers’ daughters, and ₹10 lakh each to selected women from self-help groups, reinforcing the government’s focus on social upliftment.

The program was attended by ministers, MPs, MLAs, and officials, including Housing Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra and Forest Minister Ganesh Ram Singhkhuntia.
