CM Majhi Reaffirms Inclusive Growth Vision at Rising Odisha Conclave

Highlights women’s empowerment, farmer welfare, industrial growth, and transparent governance
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reiterated his government’s commitment to inclusive development, women’s empowerment, and people-centric governance while addressing the Rising Odisha Conclave organized by News18.
Majhi highlighted women’s empowerment as one of the government’s biggest achievements in the past 14 months. He said that more than 17 lakh women have become lakhpatis through flagship schemes such as Subhadra.
“These initiatives are not just about financial support but about building confidence and independence among women, ensuring they become equal partners in Odisha’s growth story,” Majhi said.
Turning to agriculture, the Chief Minister stressed the state’s focus on farmer welfare. Under the Samruddha Kisan Yojana, farmers are receiving an additional ₹800 per quintal of paddy, providing a major boost to their income.
“This step has directly supported lakhs of farmers and strengthened rural livelihoods,” he added.
Majhi also underlined Odisha’s progress in healthcare and education. He said the state has rolled out the Ayushman Bharat scheme, expanding access to free and quality healthcare for lakhs of families.
In education, Odisha has aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) and launched multiple initiatives including:
* PM SHRI and PM Usha programs to modernize schools.
* Sishu Vatika for pre-school children.
* Godavaris Mishra Adarsh Primary Schools to provide model primary education.
“These reforms are shaping a stronger foundation for Odisha’s youth,” he noted.
The Chief Minister highlighted his government’s Jan Sunani hearings, which have been instrumental in directly addressing citizens’ concerns. In the past year, 14 such hearings were conducted, resolving over 90% of grievances.
“Through Jan Sunani, people’s voices are being heard at the highest level, and solutions are being delivered swiftly,” Majhi said.
Majhi underscored Odisha’s rapid industrial progress, citing platforms like Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave and the Odisha Textile Conclave. These have attracted significant investments and positioned the state as a growing industrial hub.
On employment, Majhi said that 28,000 appointments have already been made, while recruitment for 85,000 more posts is underway and will be completed within the next two years.
Emphasizing clean governance, Majhi said his administration follows a zero-tolerance policy against corruption.
“These steps have brought the government closer to the people in just one year. Now, we must focus on current excellence to achieve the goal of Samruddha Odisha,” he remarked.
The Chief Minister also lauded News18 for its contribution to the media landscape. He praised the network for broadcasting in 16 languages across 20 channels, and noted the popularity of programs such as Asal Katha, which present political, cultural, and social issues in a unique and engaging manner.
Concluding his address, Majhi reiterated his vision for a prosperous and empowered Odisha. “Our government’s mission is to ensure inclusive growth where women, farmers, youth, and every citizen feels part of the state’s development journey,” he said.
With an emphasis on welfare, education, industrialization, and transparency, the Chief Minister said Odisha is firmly on the path to achieving its vision of Samruddha Odisha – a prosperous, inclusive, and future-ready state.
