CM Majhi Reviews PM Janman Yojana Progress

Focus on Timely Implementation, Directives Issued to Reach Remote Tribal Areas
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi recently conducted a comprehensive review of the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana at Lokseva Bhawan, directing top officials to ensure its timely and effective implementation across the state, especially in remote tribal regions.
Addressing secretaries and senior officials from various departments, CM Majhi emphasized the importance of ground-level assessments in the 14 districts where the scheme is active. He ordered all department heads and district collectors to visit every identified village and habitation, inspect infrastructure and service availability, and submit detailed reports.
The PM Janman Yojana (Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha AbhiyaN) in Odisha currently spans 55 blocks, 289 gram panchayats, 2 municipal areas, and covers 1,751 villages, aiming to benefit 68,605 families — approximately 3.14 lakh people.
The state targets to complete significant infrastructure development by the end of 2026. This includes construction of 45,408 houses, over 210 km of rural roads, tap water supply to 1,646 villages, mobile network towers in 351 locations, hostels for students in 405 areas, and 74 multipurpose centers. The CM has stressed that all projects must be completed on schedule.
A key concern discussed was the lack of healthcare access in remote villages. CM Majhi highlighted that mobile medical units have been successfully deployed to all 1,055 villages lacking nearby health centers — achieving 100% coverage.
He also underscored the urgent need to fast-track basic services like water supply, electricity, and mobile connectivity, particularly in PVTG (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group) areas.
To ensure transparency and accountability, the Chief Minister directed Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja and other senior officials to personally visit inaccessible villages and monitor progress closely.
Present at the meeting were Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue and Disaster Management) Deoranjan Kumar Singh, along with secretaries from various departments.
